Rebecca: The train story you are probably referring to is when Dad took Mom, John and I from the farm to the train 3 miles over the snow to catch a train to Pocatello. Mom was pregnant with your dad. She and I rode on a toboggan which Dad pulled as he skiied. John was light enough he was able to walk on the crust of the snow. Quite and adventure it was. We almost missed the train because we stopped at a neighbors to warm up and let me (age five) go potty.
that's right! i remember somebody being light enough to walk on the snow and the other person needing to go potty. i just didn't remember that grandma was pregnant.
